Henna application on an arm &palm/ The design is floral & paisley. An original design by me. This would be nice for an elegant occasion or a wedding.
This design took 30 minutes to complete.Read More
I got this simple navy blue cotton dress for $0.80 from the thrift store! It was a great buy, but a little plain for my taste. I saw some tutorials for bleach pen decorating, so I went out and got a few Clorox Bleach Pens at the supermarket.
The bleach comes out as a paste and since I’m a henna artist, it easily translated into a medium I am already comfortable working with..
I did one side at a time. I put a piece of cardboard between the two layers of the dress as I carefully squeezed the bleach onto the dress. I just free-handed the design. no planning involved here.
I let the bleach sit on the fabric for 5 minutes then immediately washed it with cold water in the tub. Then I ran it in my washer on a quick spin so it came out slightly damp, but not dripping wet.. and repeated the process until it was all done!
I just feel like the design I did made it into a permanent piece of henna art!
and here are the pics! c&c welcome!!
That’s the front
and the back
and it on.

The end of summer is approaching; Autumn is in the air. I love Michigan this time of the year. Almost time for apple cider and donuts.
Meanwhile, I’ve been pretty busy with henna parties. Here are some photos of recent henna designs I’ve done. I also did $2 henna tattoos at D.I.Ypsi in Ypsilanti which was a blast!
The party I did henna for last night at Blue House in Ann Arbor I don’t have any pictures from, but that was such a good time!Read More
This is henna I did on Maralyn for her Warrior Dash. She wanted decoration on her body for her marathon she was running. I think we did a great job picking a design that was feminine, yet had an edge.
I have been very busy lately! Summer is the best time of the year for meeting people and doing henna on them. The past few events I have done have included a party of lovely ladies for a henna photoshoot to celebrate our bodies and a prenatal belly with such a lovely mommy-to-be.
Henna on a pregnant belly is a symbol of good luck and good health for the mom and baby.
Thursday I traveled to Saginaw, Michigan for a bridal appointment. I met the lovely bride-to-be, Fatima. She was so bubbly and fun. I really enjoyed the time we got to spend together as I did her bridal mehndi for her wedding. Here are the pictures from it.
P.S. Its a beautiful day here in Ypsilanti !Read More
