Bridal Mehndi Henna design in Michigan

Bridal Henna in Michigan

The bride had a wonderful professional experience with 100% Natural Organic Henna using Kelly & Bridget’s own recipe to ensure the deepest and darkest stain possible

No henna design in michigan is too complex or too small!

Mehndi is often associated with rights of passage – marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, and many more. Women and girls would typically decorate their hands and feet for these special occasions. These henna designs can be meaningful, making it a perfect addition to any celebration.

This bride was a traditional Mehndi bridal design because she wanted peacock henna on her palms. In details of her symmetrical bridal design, include negative henna with paisley.

The celebration was lovely in Bloomfield, Michigan with many attendants having a wonderful experience with their henna designs on all the woman at the Mehndi day event. We used simple henna designs for the guests helping the groups run quickly.

This bride had a nice experience and memorable bridal henna for her special day.

South Indian Wedding Henna

Hello All! Happy Spring! Kicking off the wedding season right with our latest bride Teja who is the sweetest, most calm happy bride -which really makes my job a lot easier & fun, too! Her South Indian wedding henna and wedding venue was a lovely Garden Themed affair set at the Southfield Town Center. We got sneak peek photos that I cannot wait to share with you today from their incredibly talented photographers Intimate Wedding Photographers ME+HIM Photography

First, here’s a photo that I took of her bridal mehndi after just being applied . She wanted South Indian wedding henna designs, front and back of the arms and symmetrical henna designs for the feet as well. I think her henna turned out really beautiful on her and matched her style.

Henna for Bohemian Wedding Photoshoot

Henna for Bohemian Wedding Photoshoot

This was an amazingly fun &  beautiful shoot out together by us at Henna by Kelly Caroline and Meaghan with Birch Affair . Birch Affair did the visual art and decor styling for the vintage bohemian wedding photoshoot we envisioned. The venue we went with was Ypsilanti Freighthouse which is a beautifully restored vintage train station that is open for weddings and special events in my hometown of Ypsilanti, Michigan. The photography for our wedding shoot is by the very talented Tana Helene Photography
For the henna for the bride, I met with her three days prior to the photoshoot so I could ensure the best outcome for her henna stain. The henna powder I used was from Henna Guru . I did my normal henna recipe but then I added jagua juice to the mix that I got from Henna Guru . After I applied their henna designs, I waited for them to dry and then I applied Mefix tape to their designs. Mefix tape is such an awesome product – it adheres to the skin but doesn’t smudge the dried henna design- instead it holds it in place allowing the body’s natural heat to make the henna darker and stay on the skin longer. The jagua henna mixture came out so lovely and dark on all the models. It was a beautiful henna day !
Once we had the core of our team – photography, visuals, & decor stylist, we moved forward with the rest of our team. Meaghan brought on Fudge Beauty for make up for the models and Unwind Salon for the hair styling. We were so pleased with both of their talents  and then pairing the clothing from Birch & Elm and the handmade jewelry for my favorite jewelry artist Courtney Fischer Jewelry made the perfect boho feel.
To complete our vintage, boho wedding look, Birch Affair reached out to Rose Marine Textiles for our linens, napkins, and table runners. Rose Marine Textiles hand dyes all of her textiles that she uses *swoon* . Our fantastic table wasn’t complete without the handmade ceramic of Make Do Studio which I just loved. The plates and bowls were so beautiful and tactile but delicate ah! The Good Rug was our source for rugs and pillows for our lounge areas and Jessica & Co Vintage is our main gal for all the seating & lovely vintage furniture ! Gigi & Laclede is where we found the glassware and filled it with the tasty wine from Vintners Canton Winery and on those plates from Make Do Studio we were sure to include the pastries from Good Cupcakes who made a gorgeous naked cake filled flavored with lavender and tea cupcakes mmmm!
Detroit Bridal House had the most beautiful wedding dresses for us to choose from so we went with what the bride Brittany Miller loved the most which was a modern take on a classical vintage look. She put together the skirt from Detroit Bridal House and a sweet little black silk blouse for her reception look and a gorgeous gown for her ceremony. Brittany and Kevin Smigeilski, our bride & groom, are engaged in real life and are the founders of Shock The World – an organization for strengthening community with Jesus-looking love. Their events are based in Detroit, Michigan.
The amount of talent at this photoshoot was unreal! I am so thankful I got to be around all these creative individuals all at the same time – it has given me a creative buzz that I’ve been coasting on all week.

Henna Huddle 2017  Review

by: Jade Johnson – Artist for Kelly Caroline Henna Art

Two-day Henna Huddle 2017 workshop included 4 classes and one evening talk. Nic Tharpa Cartier is not a rookie to the henna scene. He has been in the industry for 20 years, and has taught classes and workshops
worldwide, and currently works as a tattoo artist. There were 12 women + Nic. Very small and
intimate, there was a pot luck lunch and plenty of henna to go around! The women were super
supportive and authentic. What I found most welcoming was that there where artist of all
different stories. I learned about hennas deep roots. Mauritius is an island located on the
southeast coast; their henna style constructed with basic shapes, yet very extravagant. We also
looked at henna styles in the following counties of Mali, Niger, Senegal and Egypt. I can’t wait
to explore future workshops and classes!

Traditional Henna Techniques: Hand extruded & Tape Resist.

Tape Resist is an old style, utilizing straight lines, squares and geometric shapes. This style is
created with a material called leokoplast. The Artist manipulates the material using a razor blade
millimeter’s above the client’s skin. This technique will give you very sharp, extremely fine and
fiercely intricate motifs. Once the leokoplast is placed the artist will then smear henna over the
design & then remove the strips of leokoplast. This is complex because it allows the artist to
have fun with positive and negative spaces.

When recreating a design, it’s easiest to work in layers and follow the
contour of the motifs. Double lines will give your piece volumes of elegance. موقع رهانات
Modern western henna especially in the urban areas artist create very full, or scattered designs.
As a henna artist it’s extremely important to create the design as it appears oppose to creating
what your brain tells you what to see. Although; modern henna is folk art, meaning there no
convention to commit too.
“Tattoo it until it looks like a thing.” – Nic
Many artists beat themselves up over perfection; however, the level of perfection has minimal importance. In the
western world henna artist take their time.

 Design Issues That Appear

Body part switch: When confronted with a client that would like a palm design on their upper
arm. The artist needs to evaluate the new placement area, and think “what is the overall shape? I
want the design to be.” Once the artist has a placement they can then pull motifs from the palm
design to complement the upper arm design.
Working with clients can be challenging. Particularly when the artist is presented with an
extravagant tattoo the client found on Pinterest. With all the hope in the world the artist can
duplicate. I learned a simple, friendly response to such a request, and that is “I can use this as an
inspiration.” I feel inspired saying it!

Henna tattoos need to flow, and an easy way to keep the flow is create dark and white spaces
equal. Sometimes this can be tricky because a simple design is a simple design. قمار اون لاين Over
manipulation will give you a tattoo that isn’t flattering.
Clients will tell you they like unicorns, eyeballs, clouds, lizards etc. and would like to
incorporate it all into one design. It’s OK to ask them to condense! الرهانات As an artist pull part elements

Dumb to Pretty

Being a henna artist, you are going to get tattoo request that seem to come out the wood work.
Request like pawprints, hearts, butterflies etc. How do you make those shapes pretty, and
incorporate a mehndi style? The answer is simple. Start with enlarging the basic outline of the
pawprint, and then work the design into it. Moroccan is the easiest style to fill an outline with,
for it looks beautiful and extravagant.
